Home Security Systems: Why Get One?

Posted by admin August 8th, 2008

There are many different types of home security systems that have been established to provide safety from unwanted intruders, gas leaks, and fires. In today’s world, the wireless security system is the most beneficial product on the market.

Home protection systems range from simple alarm sounders that make a very loud, siren like, noise to highly sophisticated monitoring systems which are connected to dispatch centers wit live representatives.

Why Get One?

The most common reason that people purchase home alarm systems is to protect against thieves. Crooks have developed a nasty habit of intruding into innocent and unsuspecting civilian homes in the darkness of night. High tech home security systems are specifically designed and tested to protect against even the most seasoned criminals.

Over the years there has been quite a bit of speculation about the effectiveness of home security systems in apartment complexes. As with any other topic, there have been arguments from both ends of the table. One end screams that security systems work perfectly in apartments and from the other end of the table you hear the cries of the “nay sayers”.

It is not the purpose of this article to join the ongoing debate; however, the facts will be discussed from an unbiased point of view.

ADT home security systems have been a force to be reckoned with for some time now. Okay, so I have been doing a lot of snooping around on the internet recently. Primarily, I have been searching for questions that people have as it relates to home security systems. Don’t be so quick to judge either; it is because of geeks like me that spend their free time snooping around the internet that you are able to find the answers to questions like this one.

The Reality of Crime and Security Systems

Posted by admin July 22nd, 2008

What is the reality of crime in America today? The reality is that crime does happen; although since 1993 there have been nationwide declines in certain types of crimes, as sources such as the National Crime Victimization Survey suggest. However, prison populations have been increasing and it is still believed, statistically speaking, that a violent crime or robbery is committed every 20 minutes. This emphasizes the point that even if crime is decreasing, that still doesn’t mean that crime won’t affect your household at some point in the future.

Security Systems Protects Against Home Invasions

Posted by admin July 22nd, 2008

Home invasion is described as the crime of entering a private and occupied property with the intention of theft or violence. It can also be applied to a situation where a homeowner invites someone into his or her house but the guest overstays a welcome, leading to an argument that may involve the authorities escorting the guest out. This is a different crime than theft, though it is similarly motivated and comparable in statistics. Home invasion is particularly dangerous because it may involve several criminals, one or more of which may be capable of great violence. After all, a burglar can plan his or her strategy around not being seen by others. However, home invaders are usually seen by the occupants, which can lead to deadly results.

Protecting a home is often the first thought after moving in and make the decision to install an alarm system and what gets forgotten is the garage. But what about the unattached garage, can that be protected too and how can this be done?

Today most vehicles have alarm systems and we take it for granted when one goes off that it is just a mistake and one that gets on our nerves if it is a nice quite day and a horn starts blaring.
